Rae and Ghost together, those two right there were notorious kids from two different projects. Cuban Linx was an opportunity for Rae and Ghost to give us the street side. When we did it, I said, "yo, it's gonna be a very dangerous album; it's gonna change the game. We gonna invite those demons, every negative stereotype, and deal with them." It's like the shit was lived; a lot of it was lived or experienced in one form or another. It's so natural, it don't feel like songs. It was a chance to show the world not only how New York lived, but also how Shaolin preserved New York. An older generation was leaving and getting older. We're from the crack generation - that real gritty, rough project shit. We was on corners at 15, 16, doing shit you couldn't imagine.[9]

The album is also commonly referred to as "The Purple Tape" because the original cassette's plastic was entirely purple; Raekwon marked the tape distinctively as a reference to drug dealers' method of tagging their product, to distinguish it from that of others.[9] "I wanted to portray an image that if I was selling crack or dimes in the street, you would recognize these dimes from other niggas' dimes."[9]
The SVAL is a late game integrally-suppressed select-fire rifle, it is only obtainable from Helicopter Crash Sites or other survivors that have the SVAL on them. With the benefit of being integrally suppressed and firing sub-sonic 9x39mm and 9x39mm AP cartridges, making this rifle alongside its counterpart the VSS the most quiet rifles in the game. Due to the sub-sonic 9x39mm ammo, the SVAL is only audible up to 200m and there will also be no bullet crack (from the bullet going super-sonic) when you're shooting at other survivors. The rifle is best suited for ranges up to 150m, but you can extend the range when you equip the ATOG Scope. The iron-sights zeroing is fixed at 160m and are canted to the left side of the rifle, they're also quite big and it blocks quite a bit of your peripheral view to the right when aiming. Being the first and only "Russian" firearm in the game that accepts NATO optics, it has access to the Reflex, RVN, Baraka, ATOG-variants and NV-PVS4 sights. The SVAL and its counterpart can be fed using 10rd VSS Mags or the 20rd SVAL Mags, but can also be chambered by using a single 9x39mm or 9x39mm AP round. With the 20rd SVAL Mag you can be more aggressive and push survivors in CQB, making room clearing and pushing corridors far more reliable. Although this is not recommended with the 10rd VSS Mag, as you lose 10 bullets and would be more suitable for a more slower paced, long range playstyle. The 9x39mm/9x39mm AP rounds that the SVAL uses, are extremely hard to find and with the downside of having a slow bullet travel speed. The target leading you have to do is also higher than most other weapon in the game, the upside is that the bullets do high damage on survivors. 2ff7e9595c
